How long has it been since your last hike? Well, today's design post is a friendly reminder to do so with Aclima, a Norwegian textile producer specializing in functional and high-quality wool products for outdoor activities. Neue Design Studio was in charge of the brand's packaging and logo redesign.
The creative team received inspiration from the values Aclima holds dear, quality and functionality, and developed a concept with a direct and essential design language – Aclima Wool Layering System.
There's no need to be a pro hiker to know that layering your outfit when being outdoors is a must. Consequently, something similar occurs with the new packaging concept. The layering concept was made evident with a rigid text hierarchy supported by signal colors that create visibility in the store. The packaging materializes in recyclable paper. The studio reduced the number of packages by putting variable information on the front labels. This more flexible solution is a win – both for the environment and logistically for Aclima.
The overall colorful and minimal design for Aclima's packaging and its new materiality is beyond expectations. Also, the ultimate logo look and feel reminds us of the greenery we miss all year long but when going on a hike. Hikes are always a great plan to share with the fam, friends, and solo!
