Continuing with restaurant branding, we're getting a little bit fancier with Perky Bros' branding design for Common Lot, chef Ehren Ryan's first restaurant. The culinary expert considers himself to be the black sheep of his very own family. The restaurant draws upon his globally diverse background in the kitchen and his free spirit.
Long tables, open kitchens, and a community feel; characterize the place's inside design. It has an elegant style but is unpretentious; we still witness the rustic appeal of the countryside and the authenticity of the materials used. It’s a place for family and friends to gather and share great food and conversation. The design is inspired by this, utilizing the idea of common pasture, wayward sheep, and shared plates, playfully moving the common, equal spaced O's in the logotype and abstracted sheep illustrations about the natural printed materials. It's unpredictable and sometimes rough around the edges, but always intentional and thoughtful.
Overall, the studio has done an incredible job with Common Lot's identity. They managed to combine the best of the brand's values and represent the chef's personality. We believe it's a timeless design, and we hope all the best for Ehren Ryan's restaurant.
