Festa Verdaguer is a literary festival inspired by Spanish writer Jacint Verdaguer's work. The festival is centred around poetry, participation and dynamism, but foremost it aims to convey the concept of ‘territory’ through literature.
The branding for the festival, created by Barcelona-based studio Partee Design, draws upon Verdaguer’s love for his land and the nature surrounding it. Partee Design took inspiration from Verdaguer’s continual references to territories merged with descriptions of trees, plants and flowers.
Partee Design sought to reflect this in their design in a subtle and fresh way. They created a paper pulp made from Verdaguer’s poems, so that in the texture of the paper the viewer is just about able to make out letters and words from the poet’s work. This texture was applied to an autumnal leaf illustration used on posters and leaflets for the festival.
