Intent on furnishing their closest collaborators (Film Directors, ECD’s, Agency Producers and Editors) with a tactile and considered offering, Syncsmith delivers a futuristic take on the agency playbook with its “Blueprint”.
Consolidating 6 years of case studies and track record across music supervision, sound design and bespoke composition this Phaidon-esque coffee table adornment offers Syncsmith’s closest clients a time-stamped précis of their inner-mechanics and chronology to date. Produced in collaboration with paper specialists G . F Smith, a limited run of 100 have been crafted and will feature as part of G . F Smith’s coveted paper bank.
Continuing their enduring relationship with Parisienne Type Designer Morgane VanTorre the Blueprint showcases Arthemys Light - A serif family based on 18th Century aesthetics, inherently laden with ligatures and stylistic alternates which enables any prose to adopt a majestic and visceral value.
Third party validation comes via a Guest Foreword from experimental music aficionado and Pitchfork staff writer Philip Sherburne who testifies “Syncsmiths’ creations are contoured to exact specifications, honed and finessed until they fuse with the visual itself - until image and audio create a perfect alloy”.
Overall design is handled by Dave Gaskarth (CYRK) who has been instrumental in developing Syncsmith’s aesthetic. Anchored by an evergreen CGI Obelisk the blueprint draws inspiration from the homeric scholar St. Jerome and is anodised with the brand ethos - “An Asterisk Makes A Light Shine Whereas The Obelisk Cuts & Pierces”.
Production of the 160 page section-sewn and debossed blueprint has been delivered by Brighton-based book printer of the year 2022 - Generation Press.
