Grandma's Basement Blocks

Andrew C Bly is the author behind the Kickstarter project called Grandma’s Basement Blocks that provide a foundation of fun. An environmentally friendly, lightweight, knockdown-building-block set inspired by Sundays at Gram’s house “playing blocks” for ages 3 and up. A family-founded and family-run business based out of the heart of the Pennsylvania Wilds, being led by a father-son duo who have decades of experience in the toy business along with advertising and branding. The idea grew out of multiple generations of the founder's family playing with blocks that their Grandma, Dorothy, had originally given to her son in the late 1950s. Fast forward about 60 years and a couple generations, Dorothy’s set of blocks were still able to capture a kid’s attention for hours in a world of screens and apps. That sparked a “what if…” conversation and many months of research/prototype design later we were even more excited to bring these blocks to life.
