Insectum Portraits

As a creative community, we all at some point struggled to unlock our mindset when designing. Sometimes we need to pay attention to the small items surrounding us. The most curious and unexpected things might trigger new, beautiful ones. Today, we're showcasing Flora Borsi's work: Insectum, a series of makeup self-portraits inspired by bugs.

For creating this impeccable artwork, Flora had to shave her eyebrows to achieve a more precise result. The color palette comes exclusively from the insects she chose as a reference. Have you ever tried doing something as bold as her? Sometimes doing things out of the blue helps us trespass a moment of low inspirational levels. After we discussed this with the Mindsparkle team, we concluded that creativity usually locks after a period of monotonous work without new challenges. Here, we illustrate this with Picasso's proactive quote: Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working. What kind of activities help you unlock creativity?

All in all, featuring this photography and makeup project aims to increase and boost our imagination. After twelve months of working, we deserve some leisure time and explore another kind of inspirational content.
