The Obama Foundation Leaders: Europe program was the 3rd edition after Leaders: Africa and Leaders: Asia-Pacific. Virtual Leaders is Europe's program guided by the Foundation’s deep commitment to values-based leadership. It focuses on honing leadership skills and building a tightly-knit cohort. In weekly virtual sessions, Leaders discuss European policy issues and explore strategies to drive systemic change with thought leaders from across Europe and the Obama Foundation’s global network. The program also includes skill-building training, virtual cultural events, and a broad range of curated conversations with the Foundation’s global program participants. #ObamaLeaders.

For this project, it was quintessential to find something that all the countries represented in the program had in common. It proved to be a difficult task. At first, Kinda Ghannoum and Nadine Ghannoum considered flags as a common element all countries have. However, they wanted something even more specific and found coats of arms for European countries. They knew that was the winning concept. After settling on the coat of arms approach and their vibrant color schemes based on Obama Foundation color guidelines, designers created patterns they used in the event merchandise such as the tote bag, t-shirts, and tag names. For the online media, they had to create videos and backgrounds for the online session.
