La Rosa

Black is the new black. We're starting today's design post with a well-known phrase, used with many colors depending on fashion trends. However, there's nothing to argue black is timeless and iconic. And La Rosa is no exception. It's the brand of a promising young fashion designer from Genk, Belgium, with ambitions far beyond Antwerp. This project's branding was in charge of Marijn Carton.

La Rosa's designs are stylish, black and white, but the designer loves to embrace his darker side to create classic silhouettes with a twist. Marijn came up with a powerful concept that represents everything the brand values by combining the best of both worlds. For instance, the typographic logo, the brand designer of this project used elements resembling cutting patterns used for making clothing. If you ever saw the cut pieces of the remaining paper, you'll definitely identify with this. Plus, the sharp points of the typography refer to the rose thorns. As we've mentioned before, the black and white combo is a classic. And to make it stand out, you need a highly recognizable concept.

All in all, we're amazed by the work done and how the typeface's composition blends to become one concept, mixing fashion pillars. Black will always be our savior, both in our closets and in our design projects. Amen.
