Today's design post is related to Korean cuisine. One of this culture's most iconic servings is the Korean barbecue, starring proteins: pork, beef, and chicken. Restaurants that offer this service usually do it with portable stoves for diners to use at their tables and perform a great show to customers. This scenario brings upfront Meet and Moree Wu to play the principal roles.

Meet is a Korean barbecue restaurant targeting young people. The assignment was to recreate a modern art direction and visual identity to express the vivid brand image and promote the various meats. Meat's shapes on the grill naturally present geometries, beef tongue as a circle, pork neck as a rounded rectangle, and beef rolls as a cylinder. This idea leads to the milestone of the concept, connecting different meats, seafood, and vegetables with specified geometries. Various shape combinations and patterns give the geometries a playful and hot final touch. It also takes advantage of the most basic graphical element - grid, to represent grills, which is unexpected but reasonable. The principal color palette features red, black, and white in order of appearance. But when it respects bbq packaging, it changes the red to blue or green depending on its inside if there is a meat, seafood, or veggie dish. Typography-talking, Moree Wu thought of a curious concept. The 'e's featuring the name have the same morphology as the 'm's but in a shorter display. All in all, a rounded and well-developed branding design with a lot of work behind it to recreate protein cuts in an abstract and easy-to-understand way.
