Mina

Mina is a new restaurant in the heart of Barcelona. A modern bistro of Mediterranean cuisine with an Italian twist and a wide selection of natural wines from around the world, opened in 2024 by 3 Italian guys from the restaurant world and beyond. Informal service in a chic, uniquely designed environment, suitable for both local and tourist audiences.

Mina's goal is to bring Italian soul to the city, one dish at a time. Representing Mina is custom handdrawn lettering, accompanied by a handdrawn eye symbol. Both are a nod to the iconic Italian singer of the same name.

The entire identity is made to resemble vintage film posters, for which designer Davy Denduyver created over a 100 different hand-drawn illustrations to be featured in a toolbox with interchangeable assets that make up the identity. The hand-drawn and analog touch that is very prominent throughout Mina's entire visual style was very important in creating an atmosphere that felt familiar, welcoming and spontaneous. All of those are key elements that were achieved in this project.
