Continuing with cool Australian vibes, now we are taking you to iconic Sydney Harbor, exactly mate to where the Sydney Opera House is located. This time we are showcasing an immense architectural concept project by Third Aesthetic. But, wait a sec, Ø House was launched on April Fools' Day as the studio realized they were not only well-known for their architecture visualizations but their new branding and marketing abilities. They came up with this prank to showcase all the above in a way that would gain attention and highlight their creative thinking.
Ø House is a never-seen-before "island home". It captured the attention of the public and the media with its beauty. They named it Ø House after the Danish word for island in deference to the architectural heritage of its most renowned neighbor. The Scandinavian theme was carried in an innovative architectural design, along with all the marketing material and branding we created around it. Given its prized location, Ø House needed to be a masterpiece of ethereal balance. We achieved this by creating a radial house form that nestles into Farm Cove. Minimalist, Scandinavian design added to a sense of sublime luxury. The brand video captured the essence of the project and told an emotive story with a clear and uncluttered message.
Then, they created an imaginative strategy to get people talking about the project. In the lead-up to April Fool’s Day, we leaked imagery of the project on social media to create a sense of mystery and fuel controversy. As questions began to be raised, they staged a fake protest against the proposal to generate further commentary. And they created an online petition challenging the development, garnering hundreds of signatures in a matter of hours, and became viral.
