As designers, did it ever happen to you when starting a personal project is more of a challenging activity rather than an inspirational one? For instance, there's a lot of learning not only about technical features. But about the timing of the personal, creative process. Last week, we came across Nick Barclay's project called One to Five, which perfectly relates to this scenario we're setting.
In between projects, Nick Barclay's been slowly counting using geometric shapes and colors. With this method simple design brief, he has created a series of posters with an incredible sense of balance and harmony. He aims to keep going until either becomes impossible or gets bored. Nick not only made one variation for each number but six. And let us be honest, we know how difficult it's to propose many alternatives without half of them being weird combinations of the ones we like the most. Nick is well-known for his poster series design and his bold personality. Also, his method of synthesizing ideas or concepts is out of this world. For One to Five, he came up with a dark yet colorful aesthetic that blows our minds away. We witness a strong decision-making designer and a super visually trained pair of eyes.
Cheers to the One to Five poster collection! We also are inviting you to check Nick's projects to experience more about him here.
