Paris Basketball Playground

Ludwig Favre’s photo series captures Pigalle and Ill-Studio’s latest collaborative project with Nike, in which they transform a residential Parisian basketball court into a futuristic, neon-hued playground.

The latest revamp remains faithful to its original geometric wall design, but opts for a brighter and bolder colour palette. Primary block colours are exchanged for complementary, vibrant shades from indigo to yellow. Smooth gradients fade into sunset orange and pink, while silver-toned accents and an iridescent fuschia backboard exude both a modern aesthetic as well as 80s-inspired allure.

The playful take on the sport pays homage to Pigalle founder Stephane Ashpool’s well-known affinity for basketball, and coincides with his recent basketball-inspired fashion collaboration with NikeLab.
