PET Lamp Identity and Website

Today, we all carry the weight on our shoulders respecting human print on the world, aka, our home. Also, design has tried to be more conscious about the environment while creating. There's a word that includes not only the technological processes and economic issues but contemplates what will happen to the product when it ends its life cycle, we are talking about sustainability.

We're presenting PET Lamp designed by the Madrid-based Point of Reference Studio. The project mixes the reuse of PET plastic bottles with selected traditional weaving techniques from different corners of the world. Plus, their identity and website convey the values and intentions of the brand. The plastic weaving process doesn't exclusively apply to lighting but bags and table cloths. This process' result is a flexible yet resistant material in varied colors. The use of led bulbs is recommended for lamps to last longer and most importantly, it translates into a 100% sustainable product. POR design studio designed the web for this project and its visual identity featuring a typeface based on lines, reminding us of the plastic threads.

So, next time you choose a product with plastic packaging, think of any other uses you could give it. Be open-minded to create something new with daily products/ waste. There're tons of possibilities, and you're reducing your print.
