As for the past year and current modern times, we are spending more time indoors. However, we also enjoy being surrounded by nature or greenery. Most of us have bought at least a couple of plants. Some may have achieved the task of taking care of them; some others just managed to keep them alive. How long has it been since you've last water your plants? If you haven't done it in a while, this is our friendly reminder to do so. Today's design post features an interior and exterior plantscaping business, Pop Plant, specialized in inner-city spaces. Established in 2012, they asked Both Studio to create a new visual identity for the new evolving business to better represent and appeal to their clientele of architects, designers, and other design-aware individuals.

While working with Pop Plant's team to clarify their place within the industry, designers identified the unique balance in their approach. Where both aesthetics and scientific knowledge were both equally considered. This duality implemented two harmonious but contrasting typefaces across the visual identity to represent the Pop Plant ethos. Which one would you identify to design? Serif or Sans Serif? Another 2021's trendy color is green and its different saturations. The choice of a chive green tone, according to Pantone's categorization, for the business cards evokes a natural, plant-based project with a rustic imprint. Also, the decision to have two different typographies as the main ones is a bold move, which in this case, makes sense.

Both Studio is a branding and visual communication studio co-founded by Sigiriya Brown and Dan Smith in Melbourne in 2010. Their approach is simple; a genuine interest in the people and companies they work with leads to thoughtful and relevant design outcomes.
