Schellen Bell Cheese

Schellen Bell is an award-winning cow's milk cheese. It was born in Switzerland and made at the historic Käserei Studer. The 10-month aged Alpine cheese gathers inspiration from a traditional Swiss folk tale: "A Bell for Ursli". Schellen Bell Cheese and its small comic book were designed and illustrated by Zeki Michael Keskin Studio for Gourmet Foods International in late 2019.

The studio represented Ursli's quest for the largest bell in town story with a visual twist. It goes something like this... The Swiss children line up for the Chalandamarz parade, and Ursli, the protagonist, is stuck in the back of it because of her tiny bell. She vowes that she will lead the next one. Ursli packs a bag and hikes into the snow-covered Alps. Eluding Frost Giants that once ruled all over Switzerland, Ursli finds safety in caves and climbs the mountains until she discovers a snow-covered cabin with the largest bell inside. She returns to her town and proudly leads the next parade with her enormous bell as the whole village cheers. Complimenting this beautiful Swiss story with visual storytelling, the studio created a colorful identity for the brand and even designed a comic book for the cheese's launch.

It was such a privilege and joy forZeki Michael Keskin Studio to dive into the incredible world of the Swiss folk tale "Ursli" and build a brand identity system around her story with the bell.
