This week's Top 10 series had much to do with typography, so today, we are showcasing a type font project developed by atipo. You know we have a healthy obsession, for now, with character design. And this year, we've seen lots of trends about this topic, as the use of bold curvy fonts and serif's return from the ashes. However, Strawford font can become a more personalized typeface because of its alternate characters. On this occasion, we might get a little bit technical :)
Featuring 393 glyphs characters, Strawford is a low contrast Neo-geometric sans defined by minimalism, geometry, and purity of its form with a balanced width, generous x-height, and short ascenders and descenders, giving it a clean and simple look. Usually, geometric fonts are based on simple geometric shapes and have no difference between strokes. In this case, strokes are monolinear, which means almost no contrast between horizontal and vertical strokes. Strawford Font family comes in 7 weights plus italics. It's a recognizable, legible, and functional typeface as it also provides personal characters of its shapes. Creatives thought of offering a wide range of choices for any design project, especially recommended for UI/UX and digital design. For the presentation, creatives came up with the idea of making a series of illustrations featuring many combinations of the type's weights and its italic version. Plus, humorous winks complement the project.
