VR Fest is the first Virtual Reality festival in Mexico, described as an immersive experience where art and technology coincide, combining virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality.
VR fest collaborated with design studio Futura to create a brand identity that aimed to avoid explicit references to tech tendencies. As a result, new processes, tools and softwere were explored to create volumetrics that are intended to represent beautiful physical environments around the world, such as Vietnamese rice fields, the Brazilian-Argentine Iguazú waterfalls, and the mud volcanoes in Azerbaijan.
Futura say, "Once the designs had been rendered, a synthetic colour palette was added to represent modern pop culture, and a strident colorimetry was applied to different materials which would be easily recognisable even from a distance."
