& andstudio designed What do people do Magazine. This first issue tells stories about Vilnius. A city that reminds us of Berlin 10 years ago - young, affordable, and full of potential. There’s a booming creative economy happening over here and we can’t wait to tell the world about it! Structurally, the magazine is based on asking questions and trying to find answers. We aim to help the reader navigate different people, places, and events happening in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, as well as let them familiarise with foreign sounding names. To do that we created chapters, phonetic transcriptions, and graphic elements. We added yellow pages, inspired by old styled 90’s phone books, to showcase and celebrate the best local designers. The reader will also find an alphabetical guide for experiencing Vilnius. Lastly, we leave Vilnius and ask two photographers to explore other corners of Lithuania.
