'ORU is a jewelry line that combines hand-woven Japanese glass seed beads with minimalist metal shapes, and explores texture through color and form.
All pieces are woven in our Portland, Oregon studio using an ancient technique now called Peyote Stitch.
ORU is the Japanese word for ‘to weave,’ and each piece of jewelry they create exemplifies this ancient craft.
They weave rare glass beads together to build a delicate beaded fabric and then weave the beaded material into a metal frame – seamlessly integrating two very different processes into a unified whole.'
